Fundraising Campaign – Sport and Playground Facilities Project

The school building was recently extended to give us 3 additional classrooms, and specialist rooms for Speech and Language, Physiotherapy and a Medical Room. This has enabled us to increase the numbers of pupils that can have access to our specialist provision.  We are really excited to now be planning the next phase of improvements for our pupils.

We plan to improve the outdoor sports and play facilities at school by doing the following:-

  • School Field – Install a MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) for enhanced PE and sport provision and as an additional all weather play area during the school day and for after school sports clubs. (subject to planning permission)
  • Early Years and Main School Playground – Install new play equipment and safety surfaces

Some of our existing playground was used to provide additional classroom space in school, and during the summer of 2019 some of our existing play equipment failed the annual safety test, and had to be removed.

It is really important for us to maximise the school grounds to their full potential to give pupils all year round sports and play facilities.  It is part of our School Development Plan and PE and Sport Premium Statement that we develop the quality of education in school, commit to engaging all pupils in regular physical activity, have a broader range of sports and activities offered to all pupils, have active playgrounds and increased participation in competitive sports.

The cost of such large scale improvements cannot be met by the school budget, and we are therefore launching a fund raising campaign to enable us to proceed with these plans.  If you are able to help in any way with our campaign please contact Jill Bryant by email bryantj@forest-school.org.uk
